Just because I am a giver: They really mean all those warnings on the oven cleaner. You really should wear gloves and not let it touch anything. Even if you're pretty sure it won't hurt your hands if it gets on for a minute, you'll most likely end up regretting it. And putting lotion on after is not going to cut it.
All I'm saying is: Read the label. Follow instructions.
